ATLAS TERPLAN N
SELF-LEVELLING SURFACE FINISHING MASS (from 2 mm to 10 mm), FOR INDOOR USE UNDER TERRACOTTA, FLOOR COVERINGS AND PARQUET

USE
TERPLAN N is a self-levelling cement mass, designed for levelling and adjusting surfaces made of concrete, cement and anhydrite jointless floors inside buildings, to be used under floor covering made of PVC, carpeting, parquet, floor panels, terracotta, stone, natural marble. TERPLAN N can be used to achieve even surfaces both in new buildings and in modernised existing buildings. The thickness of one layer of subfloor should be from 2 to 10 mm.

PROPERTIES

TERPLAN N is a dry mixture, consisting of special cements, mineral fillers and modifying agents. It does not contain casein. After being mixed with water TERPLAN N forms a mass, which is easily poured. The product is efficient to use, convenient and easy to use.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The substrate should be structurally sound and of adequate load capacity. It should be free from dust, dirt, lime, oil, fat, wax, bituminous substances, remains of paint . If it is necessary to reduce the substrate's absorptivity (high-absorption substrates, such as raw concrete, cement subfloor, rough and coarse stone floors), it is recommended to use ATLAS UNI-GRUNT PRIMING EMULSION, once or (if the substrate is characterised by higher absorptivity) twice. The second layer of the emulsion should be laid cross-wise to the first layer after about 2 hours, and no pools should be left. The priming emulsion strengthens the substrate surface, reduces absorption of water into the substrate and prevents the formation of air bubbles at its surface. Before pouring out the mass one should make additional marks on the walls to mark the location of expansion joints in the rough floor, which will be transferred to the finishing layer. The technological fields and possibly floor openings should also be secured, so as to prevent outflow of the mass. This can be achieved by providing adequate profile with adhesive tape or wooden strips, using a bed of dry material as a seal.

MORTAR PREPARATION

In order to prepare TERPLAN N, pour the dry mass into water and mix the resulting substance for several minutes with a slow-speed drill with mixer (about 400 r.p.m.), until a homogenous mixture without lumps has been obtained. The mass becomes fit for use after about 5 minutes and re-mixing. Prepare in a single step only such an amount of mortar, which can be used within 20 minutes.

APPLICATION

To obtain rough floor of a certain height, for example in order to level the height of two contacting floors of different thickness, it is necessary to determine the desired level and mark it on the walls and in the area where the mass is to be poured. This can be done, for example, with the help of a level and portable ATLAS HEIGHT BENCH-MARKS. The mass should be poured manually, and the subsequent parts of the subfloor should be connected within not more than 10 minutes. The material in the setting phase must not be diluted. It is recommended to start working at the wall situated farthest from the exit, maintaining proper pouring sequence. Do not walk on the poured mass. The mass should be poured along the wall in the form of approximately 50 cm wide belts, parallel to the wall. If the room's width is greater than 6 m, then the room should be divided with the help of a technological gate. After having poured the mass, spread it first with a tool such as smooth metal float, raking up the excess mass and controlling the layer's thickness in this way. It is also recommended to vent the mass with the help of an ATLAS ROLLER. This operation improves the spreading process and helps to obtain a more homogenous surface. Prevent the poured mass from drying too quickly, direct sunlight, low air humidity and draughts. Sudden changes in temperature are not allowed. Reduce heating of the room. The surface maintained in such a way is very hard and is characterised by low absorptivity. The expansion joints existing in the substrate should be repeated in the form of cuts. The drying time of subfloor depends on the layer's thickness as well as thermal conditions and humidity in a given room. It is possible to begin the subfloor use (to walk on it) after about 10 hours. Ceramic and stone floor covering can be fixed after about 3 days, and carpeting, PVC, linoleum floor covering or parquet after about 7 days (depending on the humidity of the air and the substrate).

COVERAGE

On average 1.5 kg of mortar will be used for 1 m2 for each 1 mm of the mortar layer.

TOOLS

Slow-speed drill with mixer, ATLAS VENTING ROLLER, ATLAS HEIGHT BENCH-MARKS. Wash the tools with clean water directly after use. The remainder of the set mortar, which is difficult to remove, can be cleaned with ATLAS SZOP, designed to remove old cement residue.

PACKAGING

25 kg paper bags
Pallet: 1050 kg as 25 kg bags

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT

The mortar should be kept and transported in tightly closed bags, in dry conditions. The mortar should be separated from wet substrate (preferably stored on pallets) The mortar is fit for use for 6 months.

CAUTION

This product contains cement. It reacts with water giving alkaline reaction, therefore it is necessary to protect skin and eyes. In case of the product's direct contact with eyes seek medical attention.
